The Vanishing Act
Enter Le Théatre de Miracles, where legendary illusionist Cornelius Conrad once mesmerized audiences, until he mysteriously disappeared during his final performance. After years of silence, the theatre is reopening its doors for you and your team to enter the world of magic.
Wander through shadowy corridors where every dusty prop can reveal a story of the great master. Perform dazzling tricks and discover the arts that made Conrad famous. But beware, if you don’t finish the show in time, this could be your last performance, ending with an inevitable Vanishing Act.

With 4 escape rooms in Utrecht, this means that Escape World is one of the largest escape rooms in the cathedral city, so that we can also facilitate large groups! The locations of Escape World are suitable for everyone: from escape room enthusiasts to bachelor parties, and from family outings to children’s parties. With 23 escape rooms spread over 5 locations and a large number of themes, you will always find something that suits you!
And did you know that we have thought about our unique location? All our locations, including Utrecht, can be found in a rock-solid location. Easily accessible and with entertainment and catering in the vicinity. This way, your Escape Room outing will be completely complete!

1. How do you play an escape room?
If we were to answer this question, we would give away all the surprise and experience. Let’s just say that it is one of the most exciting and adventurous ways to spend time with your friends, family or colleagues. The game itself involves you all working together to escape from a room by solving a mystery. Solve the mystery and escape within 60 minutes. Does this all sound very simple? Then come and experience it soon!
2. Is it scary / suitable for children?
There are no horror themes or effects. Furthermore, there are no major fear factors or heavy physical activities in our escape rooms. Our escape rooms are mainly thematic in design; comparable to the Efteling!
Our rooms are suitable for children and young adults, possibly accompanied by an adult. Per room you will find the recommended ages that we advise. We advise you to adhere to these! Adults may supervise per room as supervisors, but cannot participate in the game itself. We also use a minimum number of 4 and a maximum of 6 children per game.
3. Can we have something to eat/drink at Escape World?
It is not possible to eat or drink something with us. However, we are located in the heart of Utrecht, where you can find delicious catering on every street corner. Upon arrival we do offer a cup of coffee, tea or water for while you wait.
4. With how many persons can we do an escape room?
This varies from room to room. With each escape room, you will find the recommended numbers of people. In general, you can play with 2-6 people in 1 escape room. It is not possible to do an escape room with 7 people!
However, larger groups can be divided between rooms, for example, 24 people can play in 4 escaperooms at the same time. If there are larger numbers, a second round can be booked.
5. Can we play against each other in the same theme?
Not yet, but from 2025 onwards! There will be two identical copies of the Cabin in the Woods theme. So with a group of up to 12 people, you can go on the same adventure in two teams at the same time! If you feel like competing, definitely compete with your friends, family or colleagues.
6. What themes do you have?
We have 4 rooms with 3 different themes: 1x The Midnight Express, 1x The Vanishing Act and 2x Cabin in the Woods. Each theme has an exciting and different story, theme and decor. Each room has completely different puzzles, codes and unique storyline. This way you can also book other Escape Rooms and have a completely different experience!
7. Why Escape World Utrecht?

Our escape rooms are designed to be one of the most fun 60 minutes you will ever experience with your friends, family or partner. You will learn a lot about yourself and the rest of your team in a very short time and above all you will just have a lot of fun!
8. Do you also offer packages for larger groups?
There are currently no packages available, the focus is currently entirely on the opening of the brand new location and the development of the special rooms. Check back here soon!
9. Do you also offer special company outings?
Playing an Escape Room together is an ideal company outing. We currently do not have a separate offer for larger groups, but you can book multiple rooms at the same time. We would love to welcome you for an unforgettable team experience!
10. Can I also book last-minute?
Yes, you can! This is one of our main advantages. When we open in October 2024, you can use ouronline booking tool. This allows you to easily see if there is a last-minute option available. The options are updated immediately and can therefore actually be booked. You can book an escape room up to 1 hour in advance!
11. How can I change or cancel a booking?
You can cancel free of charge up to one week before your escape room starts. After that, certain rules apply. Please read our booking conditions..

12. In which languages can the escape rooms be played?
Our escape rooms are bilingual: this means that all texts in the game can be found in both English and Dutch. If there is only one way to display the text, it will be in easy to understand English.
It is therefore possible to play the escape room with a mixed group of Dutch and English people at the same time!
13. Where can I park?
There are parking garages, within a maximum distance of 100 meters from our location! These are parking garage Paardenveld or Q-park La Vie
You can also park (paid) in the street itself, but keep in mind that there are limited spaces.
14. Are your escape rooms also suitable for people in wheelchairs?
